Gourmet Pack Canning is a service offered by Fisherman's Canning in San Diego. Fishermen returning from their multi-day trips can exchange their fresh or frozen catch (albacore, yellowfin tuna or, yellowtail) for gourmet-packed 7.5 oz. cans.
After extensive research, Fisherman's Canning located a custom canner here on the west coast. We had an idea - to kick it up a notch - and give our customers extra-premium grade fish caught by our customers, in an assortment of gourmet choices. Due to the quality and nature of this process, you receive ONE-TO-ONE (one can of gourmet-pack for every 1 pound of whole fish) and pay the current canning charge ($2.99 per can). The fish in the can was caught on sportfishing boats - top quality and fresh! Considering Olive Oil packed tuna costs upwards of $5.00 a can, this is a good value, an even better option for the fisherman with good taste and makes an INCREDIBLE gift!
The fish in the can is solid-pack and comes in a variety of flavors. There is a big difference between our Gourmet Pack and Straight-Trade Cans (see Straight-Trade vs. Gourmet). Although you'll pay $2.99 per can, all our customers agree that our Gourmet Pack Cans are the finest available.
